
MICHAŁ SYSKA – director of the Ferdinand
Lassalle Centre for Social Thought. Publicist, lawyer, social
and political activist. He graduated from the University
of Wrocław
and completed postgraduate studies in Human Rights and Freedoms organised by the Polish
Academy of Sciences and
the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights. He also completed a
course in the School for Young Social and Political Leaders led by professor Zbigniew Pełczyński, Ph.D. Michał is currently writing his Ph.D. thesis on the postcommunist Left. He is a member of the Krytyka Polityczna
editorial team. He wrote for Gazeta Wyborcza, Dziennik,
Rzeczpospolita, Trybuna, Przegląd, Bez Dogmatu, Myśl
Socjaldemokratyczna and other
publications. He cooperates with the anti-fascist periodical Nigdy Więcej and
coordinates the social campaign "Szpitale
Dla Ludzi, Nie Dla Zysku!"
(“Hospitals For People, Not For Profit!”).
He organised and participated in many conferences and
symposia, both national and international ones, dedicated to the political
problems of the modern world. He published the book Ile ojczyzn?
Ile patriotyzmów? (How many motherlands? How many

SZYMON SZEWRAŃSKI, Ph.D. – programme
vice-director of the Ferdinand Lassalle Centre for Social Thought, research
worker, specialist in environmental development and protection. Interested particularly in the problems of sustainable development.
He is a tutor in environmental management, environmentalism, ecological
politics and law, ecological consulting and environmental care in land
management. He obtained his professional experience in Great Britain, Belgium,
Germany, France, Italy,
Finland, the Czech Republic,
Ukraine, Hungary and Slovakia, as well as in the EU
institutions of the European Commission and European Parliament. He cooperated
with public administration and non-governmental ecological organisations.
He is also a member of many academic societies and a coordinator and author of
various research projects, as well as the author and coauthor of numerous

RAJMUND NIWIŃSKI – organisational
vice-director of the Ferdinand Lassalle Centre for Social Thought. He graduated
as a politologist at the Faculty of Social Sciences
of the University
of Wrocław.
Former Secretary General for the Social Democracy of Poland.
He worked on a project of a bill on professional sport. He is actively
promoting free software and uninhibited access to public information. He is a member
of the Krytyka Polityczna
editorial team and a coordinator of the social campaign "Szpitale Dla Ludzi, Nie
Dla Zysku!"
